Who are the Christadelphians? Are they new?The Christadelphians are a small religious body who have deliberately attempted to get back to the faith and character of the early Christian church. We have been in existence for over 100 years. The name 'Christadelphian' means 'Brother in Christ' or 'in brotherhood with Christ'.
Kingdom of GodThe Kingdom of God will be established on earth with Jesus as King. His capital will be Jerusalem, his dominion will be worldwide, and his government will bring righteousness and peace without end. (Dan. 2:44; 7:27; Acts 3:21; Jer. 3:17; Isa. 2:2-4; Psa. 72; Dan. 7:14; Isa. 9:6-9; 11:1-9; 61:1-11).
JesusIn His love, God sent the man Jesus into the world to save men from their sins. Those who believe on him will not perish, but have everlasting life. (Mt. 1:21; Jn. 3:16).
Sacrifice of ChristJesus was sinless. He died to show the righteousness of God and to redeem those who receive this sacrifice by faith. God raised him from the dead, gave him immortality, granted him all authority in heaven and on earth, and set him as the mediator in heaven between God and man. (Acts 2:23-36; Eph. 1:19-23; 1 Tim. 2:5; Heb. 4:14-16; Rom. 3:21-26).
The PromisesThe Gospel is inseparable from the promises which God made to Abraham and David in Old Testament times. These promises find their fulfillment in Jesus Christ. (Gal. 3:6-9, 16, 25-29; 2 Pet. 1:2-4; Gen. 14:14-17; 22:15-18; 2 Sam. 7:12-16; Lk. 1:31-33).
Return of ChristJesus will return to the earth soon. At that time he will raise many of the dead, judge them with the living, and give his faithful followers everlasting life in the Kingdom of God. (Rev. 22:12; Lk. 21:20-32; Jn. 5:28-29; Dan. 12:2; 2 Tim. 4:1; Mt. 25:34).
Chris·ta·del·phi·an [krista delfee n] noun
Formed from the Greek Khristadelphos, literally, “in brotherhood with Christ”.
As the name implies, the brethren in Christ are a body of people bound together by a belief in the things concerning the Kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ and by immersion into Christ for the remission of sins.
We hold that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments
are able to "make one wise unto Salvation" (2 Timothy 3:16). Believing
in the Divine Authorship of the Bible, we think it only reasonable to
discount any interpretation thereof that fails to harmonise all the
testimonies of the Holy Scriptures . Finding that the creeds of the
various sects around are, in a great variety of ways, opposed to the
direct teaching of the Bible, we feel compelled to stand apart, making
appeal in all such matters to the statements of Scripture, and testing
all creeds thereby.
We believe in the personal, visible return of Christ to the earth, to set up his power and kingdom thereon, and we seek to share this knowledge with others.
